The Two Sides of the AI Coin

The No-Hype AI Leader

Edition #2

Feeling the pressure to "do AI" is one thing. Actually doing it without setting a pile of money on fire is another. This week, we're cutting through the noise to focus on the two sides of the AI coin you can't afford to ignore: the practical and the personal.

Quick Wins This Week

A quick recap of what we covered on LinkedIn this week.

Tuesday: We broke down the only four AI types that matter for your business right now — Generative, Predictive, Automation, and Agentic. No acronym soup, just tools that solve real problems.

Wednesday: Before implementing any of that tech, we tackled the single most important question every leader needs to ask: "Who does this affect?" True leadership isn't just about ROI — it's about understanding the human impact on your employees, customers, and community.

Deep Dive: Connecting Tech to Trust

It's easy to get stuck on one side of the AI equation.

Some leaders are all-in on the tech, chasing shiny objects and focusing only on potential returns. They risk launching tools their teams resent and customers distrust — failed projects, damaged culture, and a lot of wasted budget.

Other leaders are so worried about ethical implications that they're paralyzed, unable to decide, while competitors are already reaping the benefits of automation and smart insights.

The sweet spot is right in the middle.

A successful AI strategy connects the what to the who. It means choosing the right Automation AI to free your team from tedious data entry — and having the conversations to show them how that creates space for more meaningful work. It means using Predictive AI to improve customer experience while being transparent about how you're using their data.

You can't have one without the other. Tech without people is reckless. People without tech is irresponsible.

Your Action Item This Week

Pick one routine process in your department that feels inefficient or repetitive — reporting, scheduling, data compilation, whatever comes to mind first.

Ask your team: "If we could automate this, what would that free you up to do?"

Don't mention specific tools yet. Just start the conversation. You'll get immediate insight into where your team sees value and begin building the psychological safety needed for real transformation.
